Amid Reports of Police Raid, a Cryptocurrency Exchange from Turkey Halts Operations
According to the latest reports, one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges from Turkey did something that has the entire user community shocked and concerned. The reports suggest that the exchange suddenly seized the withdrawal and trading services.
The sources have confirmed that the cryptocurrency exchange that has all of its community shocked is Thodex. The sources reveal that Thodex has resorted to this move following reports of a police raid at the exchange’s base of operations.
The news regarding the seizure of the withdrawal and trading services at the cryptocurrency exchange had emerged on Thursday, April 22.
Even the cryptocurrency exchange itself has made an official statement in regards to the halting of the mentioned services. The company used the Twitter platform on Thursday, April 22, in order to address the situation. In the Twitter post, Thodex officials have asked their users and followers not to worry about the situation at all.
They have, however, confirmed to the user community that the withdrawal and trading services on the exchange would remain halted for the next four to five days.
According to the announcement, the users of the platform must not be alarmed or concerned about the seizure of the services. Thodex officials have stated that they have recently formed strong partnerships with funding companies and investment banks known throughout the globe.
Therefore, they had halted the withdrawal and trading services in order to integrate the technology they have acquired from these entities, to make the experience of their users more efficient and profitable.
The announcement made by Thodex has also clarified to the users that the services would remain like that for four to five days more. However, they will keep posting on the Twitter platform to keep the users/followers up-to-date with the latest progress on the matter.
This is to ensure that none of the users become impatient or lose trust in the exchange in any way possible. According to sources, Thodex made the first announcement around the halting of the services back on Tuesday, April 20.
However, at that time, the users were informed that the seizure of the withdrawal and trading services would only last for 6 hours. At that time, the company had announced it was halting the services for the exchange’s maintenance.
Although the exchange did make an official statement on Thursday around the halting of the services, it still has the entire cryptocurrency community concerned over the exchange’s sudden halting of services.
What has the entire cryptocurrency community concerned even more is that the cryptocurrency exchange has not provided any update on the matter since then.
There are several local sources suggesting that this might be a build-up for an exit scam from the officials of the cryptocurrency exchange. There are indeed rumors floating that the CEO of Thodex has already fled to Thailand with $2 billion worth of users’ cryptocurrency assets.
