Former President of the United States, Donald Trump states that crypto is ‘very dangerous. Talking about these digital currencies, he warned that there would be ‘an explosion someday’ and added that it would be such that the big tech explosion would seem like ‘baby stuff’. He also discussed ‘Truth Social’, his new social media platform as well as the non-fungible token (NFT) venture of his wife. Over the weekend, he had appeared in an interview with Maria Bartiromo and it had been published on Tuesday by Fox Business. He discussed crypto, his wife’s new venture as well as his new social media platform.

Bartiromo questioned the former president about cryptocurrencies and noted that both Miami and New York appear to be incorporating crypto into their financial systems. Trump reiterated his anti-crypto stance. He stated that he had liked the US dollar, so he hadn’t loved crypto. He stated that he hadn’t been a big crypto fan because he always liked the dollar. He went on to say that crypto appeared to be getting bigger and bigger and no one was really doing anything about it. He emphasized that he wants to have a currency that’s called the dollar. Trump said that he didn’t want any other currencies because there could be a big explosion someday.

He said that it was a dangerous thing because this explosion could be a lot bigger than anything else, even the tech explosion. This is not the first time that Trump has expressed his displeasure over cryptocurrencies. He had predicted in August that cryptocurrencies were a disaster waiting to happen. He had called bitcoin a scam in June and said that they needs to be heavily regulated. He was also questioned about Melania, his wife’s newest endeavor in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT). Last week, he had announced that the former first lady was selling an NFT called ‘Melania’s Vision’.

She had introduced this on her newly launched NFT platform that will release NFTs on a regular basis. She had said in a statement that her NFT endeavor embodied her passion for the arts and would support her commitment to her kids through the Be Best initiative. Trump said that his wife was going to do great because she had a great imagination. He added that people loved the former first lady, so she is going to do well. As far as his social media platform is concerned, Trump said that Truth Social would be big.

He had previously said that it would serve as an alternative to the internet companies of Silicon Valley, which he said are biased against him, along with other conservative voices. He is planning on launching the platform early next year nationally. The former US President was also asked about how Truth Social would compete with some of the big tech companies in the market, such as Google and Twitter. He said that they didn’t really have a choice, but his platform was going to be a big one.
